Janet Johnson

Janet Martin Johnson, age 74, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Janet was born on April 5, 1943 to her parents the late Canton Martin and Leone Tackett Martin. She was the wife of the late Thurman Johnson, a retired manager for Ridge Cliff Apartments, librarian and secretary, and a member of the Caney Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Janet is survived by one daughter, Denise (Jeff) Compton, one granddaughter, Martha Paige (Blake Browning) Newsom, one brother, Jery (Angie) Martin, nephew, Evan Martin, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Morgan Chapman, Eric Fleming, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
