Chris (Buck) Bartley

Chris (Buck) Bartley, age 75 passed away Wednesday, Dec. 29th, 2010 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Chris was born on May 14th, 1935 to his parents the late Chris Bartley and Rosie Price Bartley. He was the husband of the late Hazel Bartley, a retired coal miner for Republic Steel, and a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with his wife and parents, Chris was preceded in death by one daughter, Ella Jean Little, one granddaughter, Julie Price, five brothers, James, Arnold, James Truby, Billy James, and Russell Bartley, and four sisters Etta Mae Williams, Floetta Hodgston, Alice Bowling, and Barbara Bartley. Chris is survived by one son, Chris (Judy) Bartley Jr. of Rockhouse, Ky., one brother, Bobby Gene Bartley of Tn., three grandchildren, Joey Wayne Little, Michael Jason Little, and Vickie Spears, two great-grandchildren, Toby Thacker and Savannah Raines Rumfield and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at Alleghany Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Friday and Saturday night at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday January 2nd, 2011 at 12 noon at the Alleghany Freewill Baptist Church with James Tackett, Tommy Tackett, Oscar Damron, and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Bartley Family Cemetery at Lookout.
