Don Roger Ratliff

Don Roger Ratliff age 73 passed away Monday, January 3rd, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Don was born on June 21st, 1937 to his parents the late Arvid Jay Ratliff and Sadie Ratliff. He was the husband of Nellie Fern Rowe Ratliff, a retired coal miner for Island Creek Coal Company, a minister, and a member of the Caney Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Jimper Ratliff, and two sisters, Geneva Sturgill and Lois Sanders. In addition to his wife, Don is survived by two daughters, Tabitha Dawn DeHart of Pikeville, Kathy Lynn Thacker of Morristown, Tn., one brother, Paul Blake Ratliff of Tn., three sisters, Genevieve "Bea" Ratliff of Mullins, Ky., Virginia D. Garber of Grundy, Va., Zetta Ratliff of Bristol, Tn., three grandchildren, Robin Hunter, Jarrod DeHart, and Sasha Epling, one great grandchild, Caden Epling, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, January 6th, 2011 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with John Vance officiating. The burial will follow in the Rowe Family Cemetery.
