Maxie Smith Burgess

Maxie Smith Burgess, age 92, passed away Sunday, January 23rd, 2011 at the Parkview Nursing Home. Maxie was born on May 13th, 1918 to her parents the late William Hayes Smith and Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Price Smith. She was the wife of the late Paul Burgess, retired from sales at Sears Company, and a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. Along with her husband and parents, Maxie was preceded in death by five brothers, Leonard, Lossie, Roy, Warren, and Harrison Smith. Maxie is survived by a special friend, Priscilla Boyd, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday 1-26-2011 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Elder Keith Blackburn and Josh Allen officiating. The burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
