James Walter Skiles, age 78 passed away Tuesday, March 15th, 2011 at the Whitesburg ARH Hospital. James was born on Feb. 23, 1933 to his parents the late James Daniel Skiles and Josie Kincer Skiles. He was the husband of the late Patsy Harmon Skiles, a retired employee for the Ky. Power Company, and a member of the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church. Along with his wife and parents, James was preceded in death by one sister, Irenda Skiles. James is survived by two sons, James Michael (Cheryl) Skiles of Jenkins, Ky., David (Rebecca) Skiles of Hazard, Ky., one daughter, Stephanie Lee Skiles of Jenkins, Ky., two brothers, Paul and Marvin Skiles both of Springfield, Ohio, one sister, Ruby Ratliff of Weeksbury, Ky., four grandchildren, Tyler (Jordan) Skiles, Erika Skiles, Cole Skiles, and Taylor Skiles and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 7p.m. at the Burdine freewill Baptist Church with Benny McCall officiating. The burial will follow in the Highlands Memorial Cemetery at Paintsville.
