James Harold Swiney

James Harold Swiney, age 77, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at his home. James was born on April 6th, 1933 to his parents the late Woodrow Swiney and Mary Bentley Swiney. He was the husband of Shelby Jean Hill Swiney, a retired coal miner and operator, and a member of the Regular Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Along with his wife, James is survived by one son, James Curry Swiney of Elkhorn City, three daughters, Rhonda Thacker of Elkhorn City, Gina May Swiney of Oregon, Marian Denise Swiney of Elkhorn City, two brothers, John L. (Fannie Mae) Swiney of Pikeville, Frank (Katie) Swiney of Ohio, one sister, Maudie Feliciano of Lookout, Ky., five grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday March 25th, 2011 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Stacy Hopkins, Archie Price, and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Clevinger Cemetery at Venters, Ky.
