Franklin (Smokey) Woodward

Franklin Herbert (Smokey) Woodward age 74 passed away Monday March 28th, 2011 at the V.A. Medical Center in Huntington,WV. Franklin was born on Sept. 28th, 1936 to his parents the late Frank Woodward and Grace Steele Woodward. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and a paralegal for Ned Pilldersdorf, and Derossett- Lane. He also was a believer of the baptist faith. Along with his parents, Franklin was preceded in death by one son, Gary Michael Hemlock, two brothers, Oakie and Harold Woodward,and two sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Claudette Woodward. Franklin is survived by three daughters, Lisa Woodward of Jenkins, Ky., Vicki Hurst of Whitesburg, Ky., Jessica Patrick of Auxier, Ky., one sister, Virginia Ratliff of Shelby Gap, Ky., nine grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday, March 31st, 2011 at 1p.m. at the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church with Teddy Tackett and Hylton Freewill Baptist Ministers officiating. The burial will follow in the Steele Cemetery at Shelby Gap.
