Anna Ruth Goodman

Anna Ruth Goodman of Douglas Drive, Pikeville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, April 22nd, 2011 at the home of her daughter. She was 86 years old at the time of her passing. Ruth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pikeville, although she first confessed her faith in Jesus Chris and followed him in baptism at the Vicco Presbyterian Church in Perry County, Ky. She was born on July 15th, 1924 in Harlan, Kentucky to Virginia Hatfield and John Henry Campbell. She was primarily raised by her grandmother, Lora Campbell, wtih whom she lived on Long Fork of Virgie. She graduated from Virgie High School in 1945 and married her husband of 55 years Lacy McKinley Goodman, on October 5, 1946. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2001. Ruth leaves behind to mourn her passing three sons: Paul Howard Goodman (Jone) of Virgie; Lacy M. Goodman Jr. of Pikeville; Stephan Jan Goodman (Gloria) of Robinson Creek; one daughter, Shelia Goodman-Watson (Mickey) of Dorton. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Melissa Goodman-Slone (Johnny); Paula Michelle Goodman Little (Joey); Bryan Tracy Pleasant (Paula) all of Pikeville; Stephanie Nicole Goodman of Johnson City, Tn; Kayla Lynn Watson of Lexington, Ky; and Joshua Blake Watson of Louisa, Ky; and four great-grandchildren: Daniel Little, Peyton Drew Elswick, Hillary Elizabeth Elswick, and Zoey Michelle Little, all of Pikeville, and a very special caregiver and friend, Tena Damron of Marrowbone. Visitation will be Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home from 6p.m. to 9p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at 2p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Pikeville. Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations be made in Ruth's name to the First Presbyterian Church, 508 Cedar Creek Rd., Pikeville, Ky. 41501
