Jay S. Tackett age 70 passed away Sunday, June 19th, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Jay was born on Sept. 25th, 1940 to his parents the late Alf Tackett and Rachel Tackett. Jay was a retired truck driver and a believer of the freewill baptist faith. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Along with his parents, Jay was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Branham, two sisters, Jeanette Coleman and Sadie Koch. Jay is survived by one daughter, Rhonda (Walt) Brewer of Elizabethtown, Ky, two brothers, Victor Tackett of Grayson, Ky., Iam (Elloween) Branham of Columbus, Ohio, five sisters, Icy Coleman of Little Creek, Drucie Hobson of Robinson Creek, Phyllis (Jimmy) LoGue of Ohio, Freda (Dave) Sparks of Lancaster, Ohio, Cleda (Roger) Fields of Collins Hwy., two grandchildren, Matthew and Delaney Brewer, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, June 23rd, 2011 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with John Hobson, Donnie Hall, and Paul Badgett officiating. The burial will follow in the Esco Cemetery.
