Arvid Dale Compton

Arvid Dale Compton age 64 passed away Wednesday June 22, 2011 at Pikeville Medical Center. Arvid was born on Jan. 10, 1947 to his parents the late Denver Compton and Bertha Coleman Compton. He was the husband of Connie Bowling Compton, owner of Compton's Quik Stop at Weeksbury, Ky., and a member of the Weeksbury Community Chapel Church of God. Along with his parents, Arvid was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Edwin Compton, and one sister, Bada Compton Gard. Along with his wife, Arvid is survived by one son, George Gregory (Sherry) Compton of Melvin, Ky., one step-son, Kenton Gilpin of Caney Hwy, four brothers, Marion(Sudie) Compton of Auxier, Ky., Darrell (Doris) Compton of Lexington, Ky., Denver Junebug (Judy) Compton of Weeksbury, Ky., Danny W. (Rhonda) Compton of Weeksbury, Ky., three grandchildren, Tyler, Matthew, and Riley-Jo Compton, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday and Friday at 6p.m at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at 1p.m. at the Weeksbury Community Chapel Church of God with Vernon Johnson and Atha Johnson officiating. The burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Garden at Ivel.
