Carl Abbott

Carl Abbott age 62 passed away Wednesday, July 6th, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Carl was born on August 1st, 1948 to his parents the late Earl Abbott and Gladys Abbott. He was the husband of Sadie Abbott, a retired miner for McCoy Elkhorn Coal Company, and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Carl was preceded in death by one brother, Willard Abbott. Along with his wife, Carl is survived by one son, Robert Abbott, six daughters, Valerie Abbott, Sabrina (Mark) Duty, Sandra Dotson, Debbie (Gary) Duty, Peggy Estep, Linda (Ralph) Dotson, five brothers, Eddie (Susie) Abbott, Toby (Kay) Abbott, Harold (Dale) Abbott, Roger Hunt, Larry Abbott, four sisters, Margie (Bill) Hunt, Hester (Theron) Farmer, Thelma Abbott, Berdie Stump, thirteen grandchildren, Brenda Mounts, Christopher Estep, Gary Jeray Duty, Kimberly Duty, Gregory Duty, Victoria Keene, Samantha Meade, Kimberly Meade, Christina McClease, Ashley McClease, Robert Jr. Waller, Dalton Lee Waller, and Diana Thacker, five great grandchildren, Kenesha Skeens, Katelyn Mounts, Brayden Abbott, Brycen Lewis, Cynthia Masters, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Edo Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, June 9th, 2011 at 1p.m. at the Edo Freewill Baptist Church with Dean Hess, Bob Lance, Matthew Bowman, and Eddie Abbott officiating. The burial will follow in the Dotson Cemetery.
