Eddie Ray Keene, age 58 passed away Monday, July 25, 2011. Eddie was born on April 30, 1953 to his parents Ruby Della Keene and the late Everett Keene. He was the husband of Mary Jo Keene, a retired coal miner and former employee of the Pike County Detention Center. He also was a member and deacon of the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Along with his wife and mother, Eddie is survived by two sons, Joseph Edward Keene, Shane Allen Akers, two daughters, Heather Renee Akers, Misty Shae Akers, one sister, Teresa A. Keene Robinette, three brothers, Terry Keith Keene, David O. Keene, James Everett "Bo" Keene, three grandchildren, Harley Chaney, Charlie Wallace, Quinten Keene and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, July 28th, 2011 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jimmy Jack Adkins and Jimmy Reed Adkins officiating. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
