Jimmie May

Jimmie May age 94 of Dix Fork passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at his home. Jimmie was born on Oct. 3, 1916 to his parents the late Joseph May and Effie Gannon May. Jimmie was the husband of Faynell Gross May, self employed, and a member of Dix Fork Old Regular Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. Along with his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by one son, Don May, eight brothers,and five sisters. Along with his wife, Jimmie is survived by eight sons, James Samuel May, George Washington May, Kellis May, Woodie May, David May, Bernie May, Jonathan May, Joey May, five daughters, Esta Lee West, Effie Rita Hunt, Lillian Rhodes, Rhonda Irene May, Arlene Francis Chapman, thirty-two grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Dix Fork Old Regular Baptist Church. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 1p.m. at the Dix Fork Old Regular Baptist Church with Lacey Walters, Ivan Thornsberry, and others. The burial will follow in the May Cemetery at Sydney.
