Hazel Newsom

Hazel Mullins Newsom, age 79 passed away Tuesday, August 16th, 2011 at the Letcher Manor Nursing Home. Hazel was born on June 14th, 1932 to her parents the late John Wesley Mullins and Tiny Stewart Mullins. She was the wife of the late Wilson Newsom, a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ. Along with her husband and parents, Hazel was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Hazel is survived by two sons, Charles W. Newsom of New York, Roger Newsom of New York, two daughters, Glenda G. Damron of Shelby Gap, Ky., Karen West of Pikeville, Ky., one brother, Junior Mullins of Virgie, Ky., one sister, Jessie Mullins of Dorton, Ky., seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 5p.m. at the Bethel Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday August 20th, 2011 at 11 A.M. at the Bethel Freewill Baptist Church with freewill baptist ministers officiating. the burial will follow in the Elkins Cemetery of Beefhide.
