Gerald Ratliff

Gerald Ratliff, age 80 passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 at the V.A. Hospital in Lexington, Ky. Gerald was born on Oct. 7, 1930 to his parents the late Ersel Ratliff and Irene Ratliff. He was the husband of the late Fayeta Salyers, retired from Childers Oil, and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Gerald is survived by one son, Garrick Ratliff and his wife, Janet Ratliffof Morehead, Ky.,two brothers, Ted (Pat) Ratliff of Whitesburg, Ky., Gary (Janet) Ratliff of Frankfort, Ky., one sister, Peggy (Don) Childers of Whitesburg, Ky., one grandchild Garrison Ratliff of Morehead, Ky., and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Tuesday Sept. 6, 2011 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Edmon Bolen officiating. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Mausoleum.
