Eloise Thacker Slone

Eloise Thacker Slone, age 82 passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 at her home. Eloise was born on Sept. 15, 1929 to her parents the late Rose Coleman and Preston Taulby Thacker. She was the wife of the late Johnny Slone, a homemaker, and a member of the Church of God. Along with her husband and parents, Eloise was preceded in death by her first husband, Jeff Thacker, two sons, Preston Jeffery Thacker and Phillip Dean Thacker. Eloise is survived by two sons, Butch (Terry) Thacker, Tilden Wayne (Patricia) Thacker, six daughters, Rosalie (Jo) Slone, Connazine (Mason) Ratliff, Norma Thacker, Debra (Jack) Hampton, Tracy (Doug) Belcher, Anna (Daniel) Thacker, three brothers, Ireland Thacker, Felon Thacker, Preston Thacker, four sisters, Lucy Thacker, Elizabeth Nichols, Goldie Cantrell, Dovie Simons, twenty-two grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 5p.m. Church services will be Monday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with David Allen Thacker and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Bevins Cemetery at Pompey.
