Betty Griffith Ball

Betty Griffith Ball, age 83 passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Betty was born on July 16th, 1928 to her parents the late Trigg Griffith and Savannah Hunt Griffith. She was the wife of the late Arthur Ball, a store clerk at Hoffer's Grocery, and a member of Biggs Church of God. Along with her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by three sisters, Genevieve Hensley, Attie Lee Hoffer, Genetta Davidson, and one granddaughter, Heather Suzanne Taylor. Betty is survived by three daughters, Patty Ball Griffith, Sandra Ball Hurley, Susan Ball Hurley, one brother, Billy Griffith, one sister, Jettie Lee Hunt, three grandchildren, Jennifer McCormick, Tara Griffith, Jody Phillips, two great-grandchildren, Gavin McCormick and Mason McCormick, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Robert Coleman, David Kilburn, and Larry Abshire officiating. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
