Lola Sturgill

Lola Beatrice McKinney Sturgill, age 94 passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Lola was born on Dec. 21, 1916 to her parents the late George McKinney and Mary Gross McKinney. Along with her parents, Lola was preceded in death by three brothers, one infant, Clarence McKinney, Everett McKinney, five sisters, Vona Brennan, Lillie Rollins, Sophia Glass, Oma Hamilton, and Vera McKinney. Lola is survived by three sons, Douglas (Julie) Sturgill, Callis Sturgill, Brent (Pamela) Sturgill, one daughter, Efonda (Bob) Doughton, sixteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday October 15, 2011 at 11A.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Mike Whittaker officiating. The burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Garden at Ivel.
