Carl Belcher

Carl Belcher age 84 passed away Sunday, October 23rd, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Carl was born on Jan. 7, 1927 to his parents the late George W. Belcher and Sarah Horne Belcher. He was the husband of the late Doris Ann Belcher, a retired carpenter, and a deacon at the Dorton Old Regular Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. Along with his wife and parents, Carl was preceded in death by six brothers, Palmer, Marrion, Hobert, Luther, Claude, and Ira Belcher, and four sisters, Virgie Belcher, Laura Baker, Martha Belcher, and Mary Belcher. Carl is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Belcher of Dorton, Ky., one son, George Wesley (Tammy) Belcher of Georgetown, Ky., one sister, Flora (James) Crawford of St. Claire's Shores, Mi., three grandchildren, Ashley Belcher, Amanda Jo Belcher, and Wesley A. Belcher and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral HOme. Church services will be Monday and Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday Oct. 26, 2011 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. The burial will follow in the Wright Cemetery at Dorton.
