Jake W. Howell Jr.

Jake W. Howell Jr. age 56 passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Jake was born on March 13, 1955 to his parents the late Jake W. Howell Sr. and Cora Elkins Howell. He was the husband of Rita Reed Howell, the owner of Kimper Hardware, and a member of the Old Regular Baptist. He also belonged to the masonic lodge #375 and the Kimper Fire Department. Along with his parents, Jake was preceded in death by one infant baby and one infant sister. Along with his wife, Jake is survived by one son, Jason Howell of Lexington, Ky., one daughter, Amanda Hicks of Canada, Ky., one sister, Vicky Lynn Howell, one grandchild, Jonah Hicks and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Sunday and Monday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. The burial will follow in the Howell-Reed Cemetery.
