Jean Palmer McNeil age 96 passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011 in Palmetto, Florida. Jean was born on July 20, 1915 to his parents the late John C. McNeil Sr. and Marie McBrayer McNeil. He was the husband of Beatrice Osborne McNeil, a retired accountant for Johns Creek Elkhorn Coal Company, and a member of the Presbyterian Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Along with his parents, Jean was preceded in death by four brothers, James C.McNeil, John C. McNeil, Starke McNeil, and Walter H. McNeil. Along with his wife, Jean is survived by two daughters, Patty Jackson of Pikeville, Ky., Barbara Freeman of Palmetto, Florida, one sister, Margurite Oney of Elizabethtown, Ky., three grandchildren, Kyle Jackson, Chad Jackson, Brad Freeman, four great-grandchildren, Ross Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, Jameson Jackson, Alex Mania, two great great grandchildren, Bailey Simone Jackson, Keagen R. Jackson, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
