William Thurman Wolford age 69 passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center. William was born on Nov. 5, 1942 to his parents the late Turner Wolford and Vicy Stacy Wolford. He was the husband of Ruth Bevins Wolford, a retired coal miner, and a believer of the Baptist Faith. Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by four sisters, Marie Stacy, Pauline Christian, Geneva Wolford, and Madge Green. Along with his wife, William is survived by five daughters, Bonnie Stewart of Millard, Gloria Faye Kennedy of Richlands, Va., Diana (David) Sammons of Hurricane Creek, Jennifer (Chris) Hampton of Virgie, Ky., Elizabeth (Chad) Fletcher of Richmond, Ky., one son, Kenny Wolford of Shelbiana, Ky,one brother, Ermel Wolford of Big Rock, Va., eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. The burial will follow in the Bevins Cemetery at Lower Pompey.
