Rosetta Coleman age 70 passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 at the Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville, Ky. Rosetta was born on Jan. 7, 1942 to her parents the late Kenis Newsome and Goldie Newsome. She was a central supply worker for Pikeville Medical Center for 25 years, and a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Rosetta was preceded in death by one brother, Preston Newsome, and one sister, Inette Hamilton. Rosetta is survived by one daughter Brenda Kaye King of Shelbyville, Ky., one brother, Harrison Newsome of WV., three sisters, Maxie Rice of Pikeville, Anna (Roy) Smith of Pikeville, Victoria Akers of Pikeville, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Sam Crawford officiating. The burial will follow in the Newsome Branch Cemetery at Penny Road.
