Martha Lee Burke

Martha Lee Burke age 86 passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Daniel (Boonie) Burke, a retired school teacher, and a member of the Yeager Church of Christ. She was born on Nov. 16, 1925 to her parents the late James Mitchell and Mary Francis Coleman Mitchell. Along with her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Keith Burke, two brothers and one sister. Martha is survived by two sons, James (Mary) Burke of Varney, Ky., Paul (Janice) Burke of Pikeville, Ky., one daughter, Judy Thompson of Pikeville, Ky., one sister, Edith Meadows of Williamsburg, Ky., ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday and Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Johnny King and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery.
