Jerry R. Wright

Jerry R. Wright, age 68, formerly of Caney Creek, Ky. passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born on December 24, 1943, the son of the late Rollie and Clara Wright. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and Billy Wright. Jerry had worked as a coal miner for the Bethlehem Coal Co. and was a member of the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church at Beefhide. He is survived by his wife Billie Jean Wright, by two sons, Kenneth (Elizabeth) and Michael Wright, by two daughters, Melinda (Keith) Merrick and Gwen (Tim) Hatfield, by two brothers, Johnny and Donald Lee Wright, by a sister, Mary Kirby, by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April, 15, 2012, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Danny Belcher, Robert Osborne, Merle Caudill and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Newsome-Wright Cemetery at Beefhide. Special services will be held on Sunday night at 7 p.m.
