Robert G. (Bob) Wright, age 86 passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Robert was born on March 31, 1926 to the late Daniel Wright and Adeline Johnson Wright. He was the husband of Barbara Thornbury Wright, retired Millard High School Principal, and a member of the Zebulon Church of Christ. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one grandson, Jake Wright, one brother, Burns Wright, and two sisters, Elma Powell, Emily Stapleton. Along with his wife, Barbara, Robert is survived by three sons, Bob Gordan Wright Jr., Dwayne Curtis Hunt, John Franklin Hunt, three daughters, Sarah Bert Krick, Robin Wright, Heather Ellis, one brother, Charles Wright of Mouthcard, two sisters, Charlotte Tackett of Middlesboro, Ky., Carol Sue Swiney of Elkhorn City, Ky., seventeen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Thursday at 7p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday, April 20, 2012 at 1p.m. at the Old Millard High School with Shane Lockard officiating.
