Harvey Gene Elkins

Harvey Gene Elkins age 74 passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 at his home. Harvey was born on April 10, 1938 to his parents the late Sol Elkins and Dovie Belcher Elkins. He was the husband of the late Eliza Forestine Vanover Elkins, a retired coal miner for Trojan Mining, and a member of the Freewill Baptist. Along with his wife and parents, Harvey was preceded in death by one son, William Elkins. Harvey is survived by one son, Joseph Wall of Nicholasville, Ky., four daughters, Donna Sehorne of Winchester, Ky., Dianna Ratliff of Jenkins, Ky., Rhonda Kennedy of Jenkins, Ky., Joelene Elkins of Jenkins, Ky., three sisters, Nora Belcher, Mollie Stanley, Cora Stanley, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 12 noon at the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church with Teddy Tackett and Bennie McCall officiating. The burial will follow in the Vanover Cemetery at Jenkins.
