Wanda Lucas

Wanda Jeannette Hopkins Lucas, age 72, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Wanda was born on July 7, 1940 to her parents the late Willard Hopkins and Lakie Prater Hopkins. She was the wife of Challie Lucas Jr., a claims adjustor for Old Republic Insurance Company for over 38 years, a member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Buckfield Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her husband, Wanda is survived by one son, Tim Lucas and his wife, Tammy of Colley Hills, one granddaughter, Courtney Paige Lucas, one brother, Johnny Johnson, two sisters, Patty Hopkins Wright, Brenda Hopkins Justice, two step brothers, Roger and Reaford Meade, three step-sisters, Maxie Adams, Nova Compton, and Ina Faye Thomas, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss her dearly. Visitation will be Friday from 6p.m. to 11p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday July 14, 2012 at 12 Noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Tommy DeHart and Bruce Sawyers officiating. The burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
