Howard Mullins age 85 passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Howard was born on Feb. 13, 1927 to his parents the late William Preston Mullins and Ida Belle Gillespie Mullins. Howard was the husband of the late Madge Irene Adkins Mullins, a retired coal miner for Republic Steel Coal Company, and a member of the Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church. He also belonged to the U.M.W.A. and the Trigg National Fox Hunters Association, and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. Along with his wife and parents, Howard was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Howard Mullins and Silas Norbert Mullins, sixteen brothers and sisters. Howard is survived by four sons, Gerald Mullins of Pikeville, Shayne Mullins of Clarksville, Tn., Grady Coleman of Pikeville, Bub Coleman of Pikeville, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday July 26, 2012 at 12 noon at the Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church with Glenn Hall and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Warren G. Adkins Cemetery at Ford's Branch.
