Clarence Cochran Carr age 90, of North Charleston and Prosperity, died Saturday, July 21,2012, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Beatrice Kinney Carr; mother and father-in-law, William and Tilda Kinney and brother, Lewis Carr,Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Sue Bolton and Linda Carr; granddaughters, Deborah (Robert) Roy, Laurel (Craig) Jeffries and Sabrina Bolton; siblings, David Carr, Lester Carr, Daisy Mae Whitley; sister-in-law, Billie Boyd; dear friend, Louis Stempowski; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. Born in Texas on March 16, 1922, as a teen he was known to serenade his girlfriends on horseback. He served proudly in World War II in the Army Air Corps, completing 35 missions in a B-17 bomber. His work ethic was remarkable, as was his ability to make friends. He loved nature and animals and his special relationship with dogs was a joy to witness. When fishing, he loved the battle against a big gar. He was down-to-earth, extraordinarily intelligent and had an insatiable quest for knowledge and adventure. He had a pleasing personality with a rio tous sense of humor. He left this world with "All Flags Flying." He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Visitation in Pikeville, Ky. will be held form 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday July 27,2012 at Lucas and Son Funeral Home. A Military service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Memorial Cemetery, Pikeville, Ky. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Houston SPCA or the Pikeville, KY VFW.
