Jimmy "Jim Dandy" Mullins, age 74, of Pikeville, Ky. passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012, at the U.K. Samaritan Hospital. He was born on April 14, 1938, the son of the late Cecil and Alma Short Mullins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Rita Ann Mullins. Before his retirement he had been a coal miner and more recently was self employed. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Thomas C. Cecil Masonic Lodge #375 F&AM and the El Hasa Shrine. He is survived by his wife, Delorice Mullins, by a son, Christopher Ryan Mullins, by five brothers, Jerry, Ronald, Richard, Keith, and Brian Mullins, by one uncle who was raised as a brother, Charles P. Mullins, by a special niece, Ashley Damron, and by two grandchildren, Zachary and Shelby Mullins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Roberts Cemetery at Newsome Branch of Caney. Special Masonic Rites services will be held on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
