Isabelle (Marie) Hancock

Isabelle (Marie) Scott Hancock, age 93 passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012. She was born on July 20, 1919 to her parents the late Axton Scott and Kate Fletcher Scott. Along with her parents, Marie was preceded in death by three children; Bessie Horne, Jim Horne, and Jeffrey Lyons. Six brothers; Rass Scott, Jeff Scott, Andy T. Scott, Leonard Scott, Willard Scott, Wayne Scott. And two sisters; Ellen Scott and Mary Scott Collins. Marie is survived by her loving friend and companion Thomas E. Hancock. Five sons; Ray Horn, Rudy Lyons, Jimmy Lyons, Ronnie Lyons, & Donald Lyons. Two daughters; Deloris (Lori) Lyons Rosin, Elizabeth (Diane) Lyons Tackett. Three brothers; Ben Scott, James Luther Scott, and Paul Dean Scott. Thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of loving family and friends. Marie was a cook for the county jail for several years, but her true calling was in child care services. This truly reflected her love for all children, but especially her "grandbabies." She also will be remembered by her passion for gardening and love of beautiful flowers. She enjoyed all of God's creations. She will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her, but especially by her family whom she cared for so very much. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Arnold Thornsbury & Jerry Biffen officiating. The burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Garden at Ivel, Ky.
