Virgil Thacker, age 65 passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 at his home. Virgil was born on May 5, 1947 to his parents the late Estil Thacker and Edith Madden Thacker. He was the husband of Patricia Blackburn Thacker, a coal miner for AA&W Coal Company, and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Along with his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by five brothers, Clinard, Joe, John Dewey, Randy, & Allen, and one sister, Louise. Along with his wife, Virgil is survived by two sons, Virgil Allen (Renee) Thacker Jr., Timothy Estil (Brittany) Thacker, one daughter, Chasity LaDawn (Thomas) Thacker, one sister, Mary Worrix, seven grandchildren, Paige, Megan, Jacob, Timlee, Tiara, Timera, & Abby, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 19th, 2012 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Robert Worrix, David Jr. Coleman, and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Virgil Thacker Memorial Cemetery.
