Franklin D. Tackitt

Franklin D. Tackitt, age 66, of Neon, KY. passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at the Whitesburg ARH Hospital. He was born on April 26, 1946, the son of the Late Fed Tackitt and Birty Tackitt. Before his retirement, Franklin was a police officer for the Letcher County Sheriff's Department. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Betty Joyce Blackburn Tackitt, by four step-sons, Bobby, Terry, Tim and Johnny, by two brothers, Carl Tackitt and Ronald Tackitt, by a sister, Wanda Boggs, by nine step-grandchildren and eleven step-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, after 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker, Kermit Wright, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park at Pikeville, KY. Special services will be held on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 7 p.m.
