James E. (J.E.) Miller, age 83 passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at his home. J.E. was born on Jan. 6, 1929 to his parents the late James Reuben Miller and Ada Terry Miller. He was the husband of Madelyn Meade Miller, retired plant superintendant for East Ky. Beverage, and a member of the Gulnare Freewill Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Along with his parents, J.E. was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Miller, and one sister, Emma Sue. Along with his wife, J.E. is survived by two sons, Mickey (Barbara) Miller of Lower Johns Creek, Dennis Miller of Cowpen, one daughter, Teresa (Ralph) Gross of Pikeville, six sisters, Imogene Worrix, Ella Jo McGuire, Joyce Justice, Mary Lou Lyons, Rita Rhodes, Zita Tooley, six grandchildren, Windy, Melissa, Jaime, Corey, Rachael, Gavin, seven great grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Christopher, Maddie, Dustin, Sadie, Easton, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Tim McClanahan officiating. The burial will follow in the Miller Family Cemetery at Lower Johns Creek.
