Cecil Slone

Cecil Slone, age 81, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at his home. Cecil was born on Dec. 31, 1930 to his parents the late Sam Slone and Myrtle Dale Slone. He was the husband of Martha Tackett Slone, retired from the Pike County Board of Education, and a believer of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Along with his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Slone. In addition to his wife, Cecil is survived by two sons, Carter Slone of Myra, Ky., William (Anna) Slone of Hazard, Ky., three daughters, Peggy Horn of Stambaugh, Ky., Erma (Fred) Rife of Archdale, N.C., Sherry Slone of Pikeville, Ky., three brothers, Blake Slone, Montie (Rose) Slone, George (Patty) Slone, one sister, Beulah (Patton) Justice, Four grandchildren, Seven Great-Grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Saturday and Sunday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Fred Rife and Jamie Miracle officiating. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
