Teddy James Compton

Teddy James Compton, age 88, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at the Parkview Nursing Home. Teddy was born on Oct. 11, 1924 to his parents the late James Archie Compton and Mary Fleming Compton. He was the husband of Avalene Hobson Compton, a retired coal miner for Apache Mining Co., and a believer of the Pentecostal Faith. Along with his parents, Teddy was preceded in death by one son, Orville Compton. In addition to his wife, Teddy is survived by three sons, Gayle Compton, Gary Compton, Teddy Dale Compton, one daughter, Myrtie Kay Compton, four brothers, Bobby Compton, Charles Buddy Compton, Mark Richard Compton, Jerry Douglas Compton, two sisters, Buncie Bryant, Pattie, Moore, six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday at 7p.m. with Donnie Hall officiating. The burial will follow in the Fleming Cemetery at Jonancy, Ky.
