Mabel Compton Hopkins

Mabel Compton Hopkins age 91 of Little Creek passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Mabel was born on January 17, 1921 to her parents the late Grady Compton and Mamie Damron Compton. She was the wife of the late Ted Hopkins, a homemaker, and a member of the Energyville Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Mabel was preceded in death by three sons, Bobby Glen Hopkins, Teddy Wayne Hopkins, George Dewey Hopkins, five brothers and three sisters. Mabel is survived by three sons, Arnold Eugene (Helen) Hopkins of Glendale, AZ., Charles Edward (Linda) Hopkins of Virgie, Ky., Holly Randall (Lisa Hopkins of Holiday, Fl., two daugthers, Janet Faye Newsome of Pikeville, Ky., Carolyn Kay (Barry) Little of Virgie, Ky., nineteen grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with David Bentley and Randy May officiating. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
