Eva Clevinger, age 84, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Eva was born on March 23, 1928 to her parents the late Ver Compton and Lura Coleman Compton. She was the wife of Ellis Clevinger, a homemaker, and a believer of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. Along with her parents, Eva was preceded in death by one brother, Ivan Compton, one sister, Beatrice Compton, several half brothers and sisters, and one grandson, Jamey Spriggs. In addition to her husband, Eva is survived by one son, Greg Clevinger of Ivel, Ky., three daughters, Janetta Clevinger of Harold, Ky., Diana Spriggs of Spanish Fort, Alabama, Pam Coleman of Gulf Breeze, Florida, one brother, Ben Compton of Chicago, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at 12 noon at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. The burial will follow in the Clevinger Cemetery at Marrowbone Creek.
