Roy Daniel Smallwood

Roy Daniel Smallwood, age 77, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Roy was born on Feb. 20, 1936 to his parents the late Monroe Smallwood and Mellie France Smallwood. Roy was the husband of Sue Williams Smallwood, a retired insurance adjustor and coal operator, and a believer of the Baptist Faith. Roy was a member of the Jenkins Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Along with his parents, Roy was preceded in death by four brothers, Aubrey, Ben, Creed, and Marvin, and one sister, Melster Hampton. In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by three sons, James (Jennifer) Smallwood of Madison, Tn., Larry Smallwood of Branchland, WV., Terry (Sarah) Pugh of Somerset, Ky., two sisters, Audrey S. Mullins of Dorton, Ky., Fern Webb of Catlettsburg, Ky., six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Tackett officiating. The burial will follow in the Monroe Smallwood Family Cemetery at Dorton.
