Everett Smith

Everett Smith Jr., age 78, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at his home. Everett was born on March 22, 1935 to his parents the late Virgil Smith and Esta Hatfield Smith. He was the husband of Teresa Tucker Smith, a retired coal miner for Eastern Coal Company, and a member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Everett was preceded in death by one grandson, one sister, and one brother. In addition to his wife, Everett is survived by one son, Robert (Rhonda) Smith of Olympia, Ky., Martha Smith of Lexington, Ky., Janice (Jim) Nelson of Florida, three step daughters, Brittany, Carrie, and Krista Jones, four brothers, Ervin, James, Fred, and Stewart Smith all of Ohio, one sister, Joyce M. Helvey of McAndrews, Ky., five grandchildren, Nathan (Christy) Smith, Angie & Mitchell Stroud, Jordan & Elijah Yates, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, at 6p.m. at the Little Hope Primitive Baptist Church. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday, May 17, 2013 at 12 noon at the Little Hope Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Raymond Stanley, Kenny Chapman, Estil Hackney, and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana.
