Vernie Damron

Vernie Cole Damron age 103, passed away Friday May 24,2013 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Vernie was born November 2,1909 to her parents the late Augusta "Gus" Cole and Alice Little Cole. Vernie was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. Along with her parents Vernie was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Dave and Curtis Cole, and two sisters, Draxie Tackett and Pearlie Hall. Vernie is survived by one daughter, Helen Damron Justice of Pikeville, two grandchildren, Gregory Justice and Glyndora Akers. Four great-grandchildren, one step-great granddaughter, two great-great grandchildren and two step-great-great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends who love her dearly. Visitation will be held on Saturday May 25,2013 after 6 p.m. at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Burnin White and Randy May officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park. Special Services will be held on Saturday and Sunday Nights at 7 p.m.
