Gladys Thomas

Gladys Thomas age 75 passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Gladys was born on Dec. 25, 1937 to her parents the late Willard Bartley and Hama Kiser Bartley. She was the wife of James A. Thomas, a homemaker, and a believer of the Baptist Faith. Along with her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Lee Thomas and Denver Darrell Thomas, one sister, Hessie Elswick, and four brothers, Odies, Delmer, Trimble, and Emery Bartley. In addition to her husband, Gladys is survived by one son, James Lewis (Debra) Thomas of Pikeville, three sisters, Edith Hershek, Minnie Bell Hamilton, Essie Elswick, four brothers, Offie Bartley, Otis (Dan) Bartley, Johnny Bartley, and David Bartley, seven grandchildren, Trent Thomas, Misty Bowling, Shawna Rose, Ernie Thomas, Davis Thomas, Daniel Thomas, Dalton Thomas, twelve grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Valley Grace Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 12 noon at the Valley Grace Freewill Baptist Church with Randy May officiating. The burial will follow in the Willard Bartley Cemetery at Penny Road.
