Sally Layne Goff, born June 5, 1939, passed away on September 4, 2013 at Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, North Carolina, with family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and June Layne, her husband Roy Goff, son Greg Goff, and many beloved pets. She is survived by daughter Leslie (Keith) Sultana, step-son Mike (Sandy) Goff, step-daughters Judy (Larry) Keene and Linda Leslie, sisters, Marcia (Terry) Murphy and Diana Layne, grandchildren, Dominic Sultana, Ethan Sultana, and Jonathan Sultana, step-grandchildren Lara Keene, Larry David Keene, Jr., Janet Leslie Yates, Melanie Leslie Cooke, J. Christopher Leslie, Seth Goff, Bethany Goff Tavis, special neice Joyce Reed, best friend Donna Sue Justice, and beloved cats Stormy and Black-Ears. Sally had fond memories of her time at the Old Training School of Pikeville, graduated from Pikeville High School in 1957, and attended Pikeville College's School of Nursing. Sally shared ownership of Goff Furniture Gallery with husband Roy. She was a fan of history, especially Pikeville's history and was often called upon to share old pictures and stories of local families. She was a friend to animals, and fed many hungry strays over the years, including a family of opossum! Sally was known for her integrity, her kindness, and her irreverent sense of humor. She adored her grandsons, who already miss her, along with the rest of her family and friends who love her. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013, after 6 p.m. and the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Paul Badgett officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park at Pikeville.
