Linton Smith age 89 passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Linton was born on Oct. 31, 1923 to his parents the late Scott Smith and Georgia Dotson Smith. Linton was the husband of Gail Hylton Smith, retired owner of Smith's Service Station, and he also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army 775 field Artillery Unit Patton's 3rd Army. Along with his parents, Linton was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Smith and Lawrence Smith, and one sister, Pearl Hunt. In addition to his wife, Linton is survived by two sons, Robert Linton (Elissa) Smith, George Scott (Jenny) Smith, seven grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday from 6p.m. to 8p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church at Chloe with Brad Smart and Brian Nierman officiating.
