Truman E. Tackett, age 95 passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at his home. Truman was born on October 18, 1917 to his parents the late McKenley Tackett and Maggie Greek Tackett. He was the husband of the late June B. Tackett, a retired coal miner for Beth Elkhorn Coal Company, and a member of the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church. Truman is survived by three sons, Phillip M. Tackett, David T. Tackett, Keith Allen Tackett, three daughters, Linda M. Gibson, Retta Gail Potter, Marcia K. Forker, four sisters, Fronia Mullins, Marlene Hunt, Ruby Potter, Geraldine Tackett, six brothers, Clayton, Ernie, Clark, Kenneth, Roy, and Gary Tackett, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church. Church services will be Tuesday at Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013 at 1p.m. at the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church with Danny Belcher and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Tackett Family Cemetery.
