Alma Martin, age 92, of Pikeville, Ky. passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on May 5, 1921, the daughter of the late Melvin and Polly Salyers. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Victor Martin, by a brother, Dan Salyers, and by two sisters, Rachael McBee and Callie Boatwright. Alma was a homemaker and a member of the Victory Temple Holiness Church. She is survived by a son, James Martin, by six daughters, Edith Taylor, Deloris Coleman, Carol Ratliff, Fern Mullins, Linda Ratliff and Polly Ratliff, a brother, Clinard Salyers, by a sister, Melvie Fields, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Clinard Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery. Special services will be held on Sunday night at 7 p.m.
