Nina Lester

Nina Ramey Lester, age 88, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 at her home. Nina was born on Nov. 23, 1924 to her parents the late Dewey Ramey and Ella Mullins. She was the wife of the late John Lester, a teacher for Pike County Schools, and a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Nina was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Ramey and Bennett Hawkins, and two sisters, Nellie "Tim" Tackett, and Geraldine Ramey. Nina is survived by three sons, Edwin (Linda) Lester, David (Judy) Lester, Ron (Debbie) Lester, one sister, Anita Rowe, three brothers, Oscar E. Hawkins, James Carlton Hawkins, Morris Hawkins, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Mykal Ringstaff officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
