Beatrice Osborne McNeil passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 in Palmetto, Florida. She was bornon Feb. 11, 1922 to her parents the late Joe Osborne and Florence Justice Osborne. Beatrice was the wife of the late Jean P. McNeil, a retired office manager for Standard Sign and Signal, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pikeville. Beatrice graduated from Pikeville College and she taught school in her younger years. She was active in Democratic Women's Club and in the 50's she had her own radio show where she sang in Pikeville, station WLSI, with Dickie Brewer and Burt Ramsey. Along with her husband and parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by two brothers, Burnice and Burl S. Osborne, one son in law, James Edward Jackson. Beatrice is survived by two daughters, Patty (Phillip) Jackson Falso of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, Barbara (Thurston) Freeman of Palmetto, Florida, three brothers, Virgil Osborne, Gary (Violet) Osborne, Larry Joe (Rena Jean) Osborne, three grandsons, Kyle (Connie) Jackson, Chad (Kim) Jackson, Brad (Andrea) Freeman, four great grandchildren, Ross, Nicholas, Jamison, and Alex, and two great great grandchildren, Bailey and Keagan, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Larry Keene officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
