ML Pleasant, age 87, of Shelbiana, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013, at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on November 4, 1926, the son of the late Golden and Rena Campbell Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Alberta Lyons. Before his retirement, ML was a conductor for the CSX Railraod and was of the Methodist Faith. He is survived by two daughters, Pamela Rose Hurley and Nell Rena Reed, by a son, Mark (Carla) Pleasant, by a brother, James (Florence) Pleasant, two sisters, Emogene (Manford) Smith and Virginia (Bill) Ratliff, by five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Randy Damron officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery. Special services will be held on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
